Headed the Hamas command in Ramallah, responsible for the murder of 70 Israelis, including in the Cafe Hillel attack in Jerusalem and the Tzrifin junction attack.
Arrested in 2010 in a joint operation by the IDF, Shin Bet, and police, after being wanted since the late 1990s.
He was born in the village of Ein-Yabrud, located northeast of Ramallah, and was among the founders of the Hamas infrastructure in Ramallah.
He began his activities in the early 1990s when he established the military wing of Hamas in his village, which kidnapped and interrogated suspects of collaborating with Israel.
In 1998, he was interrogated by the Palestinian security forces and detained for several months in a Palestinian prison.
During the Second Intifada, he commanded the Hamas cell in the village of Beit Lakiya, which was responsible for the murder of 10 Israelis.
Among other things, the cell carried out the bombing at the bus station on Har Zion Boulevard in Tel Aviv.
Later, he carried out a series of additional bombing attacks that led to the murder of dozens of civilians.
