Jihad Council (Hezbollah)

The Jihad Council is Hezbollah's supreme command overseeing its military activities. It was established in 1995 by order of the organization's secretary-general, Hassan Nasrallah. The council members are senior military-political leaders, but their identities are concealed. The commander of the Iranian Quds Force participates in the discussions and assists in intelligence sharing, funding, and weapon transfers. The council also influences Hezbollah's civilian activities, and in fact, all organizational branches are subordinate to it.
